Rock N Roll Star Little Richard Dead At 87

The founding father of rock, Little Richard has passed away at the age of 87 his family have confirmed.

Rolling stone magazine have confirmed that his son Danny Penniman announced his death and that the cause of death has not yet been confirmed.

Little Richard was best known for his hit songs Good Golly Miss Molly and Tutti Frutti which went on to inspire an entire generation of musicians all over the world.

Many of the most iconic acts in the music business have said he was an inspiration for their success including the late Prince and other stars such as Elvis, Elton John and the Beatles.

He was born on December 5, 1932 and was well known for his boisterous personality an androgynous fashion.

An influential figure in popular music, Richard’s most celebrated work dates from the mid-1950’s, when his dynamic music and charismatic showmanship laid the foundation for rock and roll.

Little Richard’s feelings on gay relationships were well known

He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 and was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

In 2015, he received a Rhapsody & Rhythm Award from the National Museum of African American Music for his key role in the formation of popular music genres and helping to bring an end to the racial divide.

Music Legend Paul McCartney once said that his distinctive vocalizations were taught by the legend and he is who he is today because of him.

Penniman’s music and performance style also had a pivotal effect on the shape of the sound and style of popular music genres of the 20th century.
